I discovered an artist called Kutiman recently. He is the DJ Shadow of YouTube mixing. Basically he mixes up unrelated videos off YouTube, edits and cuts them up and the result is actually quite good. Here’s one I particularly like. 4:38 onwards is excellent.

Then I came across another site -- http://inbflat.net/ -- that extends this concept a little further. Users can basically create random ‘symphonies’ from multiple embedded YouTube videos. The result is quite a trippy but pleasant synthesis of sounds. Quite clever I think -- let me know what you make of it!

Found this rather interesting. This kind of sampling is very similar to what norwegian video artist Lasse Gjertsen has become known for doing. Except that Kutiman uses the entire spectrum of videos available on youtube. More challenging piecing together other peoples posts / videos I think. Works well! Thanks for posting, Matty!

INBFLAT.net – pretty cool also. shame the videos won’t loop automatically though.
